Description

Ceramic fibre cloth with foil backing provides high-performance thermal insulation engineered for use in heat-intensive environments. Manufactured from high-purity alumino-silicate ceramic fibres and reinforced with fibreglass or stainless steel wire, this 3mm thick fabric features a Foil-Scrim-Kraft (FSK) facing. Each roll measures 30 meters in length and 1 meter in width, providing a reliable solution for industrial, commercial, and construction applications that demand radiant heat reflection and vapour control.

Ceramic Fibre Cloth FSK: Enhanced Thermal and Radiant Heat Protection

The integrated aluminium foil layer reflects up to 97% of radiant heat while preserving the core thermal insulation properties of the ceramic cloth. This design makes it ideal for environments exposed to high levels of infrared radiation or where additional thermal shielding is critical. The material withstands continuous temperatures up to 1000°C and endures intermittent peaks of up to 1260°C.

Engineered for Harsh Conditions

This FSK-backed 3mm ceramic fibre cloth performs exceptionally well in harsh conditions. It combines the durability and flexibility of ceramic insulation with the added benefits of a foil barrier—minimizing thermal loss, improving energy efficiency, and resisting moisture. The foil layer also reinforces the surface, reducing fibre shedding and enhancing the ease of handling during installation. Available at Insulation Materials Kenya Ltd

Recommended Applications

Use this foil-backed ceramic fibre cloth in applications that require both insulation and heat reflection:

  • Duct and Pipe Wrapping: Effective for HVAC systems, exhausts, and industrial pipelines
  • Furnace and Kiln Doors: Acts as a radiant shield to retain internal temperatures
  • Fire and Welding Blankets: Protects surfaces and reflect heat during welding or grinding
  • Thermal Covers and Curtains: Suitable for removable insulation systems in industrial plants
  • Marine and Automotive: Ideal for wrapping exhausts and shielding engine compartments

Key Features & Benefits

  • High Temperature Resistance: Operates continuously at 1000°C, peaks at 1260°C
  • Radiant Heat Reflection: FSK backing reflects up to 97% of radiant energy
  • Moisture and Chemical Resistance: Withstands most chemical exposures except strong acids and alkalis
  • Low Thermal Conductivity: Delivers excellent thermal insulation performance
  • Flexible and Durable: Easy to cut, fold, wrap, or sew into custom configurations
  • Safe and Asbestos-Free: Suitable for enclosed spaces and human-safe handling
