Rockwool Insulation in Kenya
What is Rockwool Insulation
Rockwool Insulation also known as mineral wool is manufactured from volcanic rock. The rock is heated in blast furnace until melting point then spun at high speed to create rock fibers. The rock fibers are then compressed into boards or rolls. Rock mineral wool insulation contains close to 80% recycled content which makes it sustainable. Rockwool insulation is used for acoustic treatment and heat insulation due to its ability to retain and trap heat. It can also withstand temperatures of up to 1000 degrees
Rockwool Insulation Main Usage
Rockwool has some significant benefits such as;
- Thermal insulation
- Fire resistance
- High temperature applications
- Acoustic insulation
- High compressive strength applications
Characteristics
- Short fiber-compressive strength
- Suitable for temperature up to 7500 C
- Non-combustible
- Denser than Glass wool
- Available in the form of boards, blankets and wire mesh
- High compressive strength
Some of our Rockwool Insulation Brands
GlassRock high density Rock wool boards are used for thermal insulation of boilers, ovens and furnaces with high temperature applications, also GlassRock medium density resin bonded blankets faced with FSK is applicable for thermal and acoustic insulation for intermediate temperatures. GlassRock galvanized or stainless steel 25mm (1”) wire mesh blankets provide the required thermal insulation coupled with fire safety and acoustic insulation. They are specially manufactured to fit the industrial sector where thermal shock and mechanical loads are involved as in case of Boilers, Ovens, Furnaces and other heavy industrial applications.
